Locust Grove was built near Louisville, Kentucky, around 1790 as the home of William and Lucy Clark Croghan. George Rogers Clark, the Revolutionary War hero who was also Lucy's brother, spent the last nine years of his life here. Today, Locust Grove is a registered National Historic Landmark and is administered by Historic Locust Grove, Inc. The museum features a significant collection of antique samplers, whose motifs have been incorporated into this kit. Surrounding the image of the Locust Grove home are patterns from the following antique samplers.
